Srinagar, August 5: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has issued a stern warning of impending heavy rainfall, flash floods, cloudbursts, landslides, and mudslides across various parts of Jammu and Kashmir over the next three days.
Key points from the weather advisory:
- Intense showers: Brief but intense spells of rain are expected, particularly in vulnerable areas.
- Flash floods and landslides: The heavy rainfall could trigger flash floods, cloudbursts, and landslides in hilly regions.
- Regional impact: Both Jammu and Kashmir divisions will experience heavy rainfall, with Kashmir division likely to be more affected in the coming days.
- Specific alert: Kupwara, Baramulla, Bandipora, Gulmarg, Budgam, Tral, Pahalgam, Shopian, and Kulgam districts are at high risk of flash floods in the next 2-3 hours
