Three individuals were apprehended on Monday by the police for their alleged involvement in celebratory gunfire during a wedding event on the outskirts of Jammu city.
The incident, which occurred in Gharota on Sunday night and caused alarm among the wedding attendees, was brought to the attention of authorities after a video of the event circulated on social media.
Responding to the incident, the police registered a case, identified the suspects, and subsequently arrested them. The arrested individuals have been identified as Mohan Singh, Santokh Singh, and Bahadur Singh, according to the police.
It is alleged that they discharged multiple rounds from both a pistol and a revolver, both of which have been recovered by the police.
The Jammu police have issued a strong warning, stating that strict action will be taken against anyone engaging in celebratory firing or any activity that jeopardizes public safety.
