World anaesthesia day was celebrated under the agesis of Indian society of anaesthesia (ISA) jammu city branch.The occasion was presided over by Dr Anita Vig kohli President ISA jammu branch who appreciated the role of anaesthesiologists in the management of critically ill patients especially during covid pandemic.
Dr Anju Jamwal HOD Anaesthesia deptt GMC jammu also applauded the role of anaesthesiologists and paramedical staff for the round the clock vigil of intensely sick patients.
Presentation on history of anesthesia and newer anaesthetic agents were presented by PG students.Residents from different institutes participated in case report presentations.
More than 110 doctors from GMC jammu,ASCOMS Jammu,AIIMS jammu,NH katra,Gandhi nagar hospital,GMC kathua and other periphery hospitals attended the celebrations.
Dr Nandita Mehta Prof and Head deptt of anaesthesia Ascoms was facilitated with life time achievement award.
Dr Anita Vig kohli highlighted the annual report and welcomed the new office bearers for the next year.The new office bearers are Dr Rajesh mahajan president,Dr Ashwini kumar vice president,Dr Madan lal katoch general secretary, Dr Sunaina and Dr updesh kumar joint secretary, Dr Kunal Sharma treasurer along with team of executive members. concluded with vote of thanks by the newly elected team.
