Special Director General (SDG) of Border Security Force (BSF) Y.B. Khurania visited the forward areas of Gurez sector along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday to review the operational preparedness of the troops deployed there.
Khurania, who is the head of the BSF’s Western Command, interacted with the troops and applauded them for their excellent performance in challenging situations. He was given a detailed briefing by the BSF commanders on the ground about the security measures being taken to prevent infiltration by militants and smuggling of drugs.
The SDG also visited the Frontier office in Kashmir and reviewed the operational and administrative functioning of the Frontier on his first day of visit. He is on a three-day visit to the state.
In a statement, the BSF said that Khurania was satisfied with the operational preparedness of the troops and the security measures being taken to guard the LoC. He also appreciated the dedication and commitment of the troops.
The BSF is responsible for guarding the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir. The LoC is a highly sensitive border that has been witness to many infiltration attempts by militants. The BSF plays a vital role in preventing these attempts and ensuring the security of the border.
