“In ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking, police have apprehended two individuals in Awantipora and Sopore, seizing illicit substances and cash.
In Awantipora, at a checkpoint in Reshipora, officers arrested Towseef Ahmad Mir, recovering 1.240 kg of charas-like sticks. The operation was conducted by the Reshipora Police Post under the supervision of SDPO Awantipora.
Simultaneously, in Sopore, at a checkpoint near the Vuhlutra-Shutloo Panzalla tri-junction, police from Panzalla Police Station, supervised by SDPO Rafiabad, arrested Basharat Ahmad Beigh. Authorities seized 312 SpasmoProxyvon Plus tablets and ₹10,000 in cash from his possession.
Cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act have been registered at the respective police stations, and investigations are underway.
The police urge the public to report any information related to narcotics or other criminal activities to their nearest police station or by dialing 112.
