Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi will visit Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 25th to evaluate the region’s security following a recent terror attack in Pahalgam.
Defense officials report that General Dwivedi will receive briefings from senior military commanders, including the 15 Corps chief and Rashtriya Rifles leaders. Discussions will center on current counter-terrorism operations in the Kashmir Valley and security protocols along the Line of Control (LoC).
The attack, which occurred in the Baisaran meadow of Pahalgam, resulted in the deaths of 25 Indian nationals and one Nepali citizen, with several others injured. This incident is among the deadliest in the region since the 2019 Pulwama attack, which killed 40 CRPF personnel.
The Pahalgam attack has triggered widespread national protests, with demands for stronger action against Pakistan.
