It’s Friday in Jammu and Kashmir’s Bandipora district, and unfortunately, there’s been a clash between security forces and terrorists in Kulnar Bazipora. Officials have reported that a suspected overground worker for the terrorists was killed in the encounter. Sadly, two security personnel also sustained injuries during the exchange of fire.
Sources have indicated that a significant figure, top Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Altaf Lalli, was killed in this operation.
The security forces initiated a cordon and search operation in Kulnar Bazipora based on intelligence suggesting the presence of terrorists in the area. According to officials, the search escalated into an encounter when the hiding terrorists fired upon the security forces.
During the exchange, a suspected terrorist associate and two policemen were injured by the terrorists’ gunfire. Tragically, officials later confirmed that the injured terrorist associate succumbed to his injuries.
