Srinagar Police continued its determined efforts to dismantle the terrorist ecosystem by conducting extensive searches targeting associates of proscribed terrorist organizations. These intensified operations are part of ongoing investigations into cases registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
A police spokesperson stated that over 100 residences of suspected terrorist associates have been searched to date. The latest searches were conducted at the residences of the following individuals in connection with the specified FIR numbers and Police Stations:
- Sahil Nisar Ganie, son of Nisar Ahmad Ganie, resident of Shankarpora, involved in case FIR No. 127/2020 under Sections 302, 392 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), Section 7/27 of the Arms Act, and Sections 13, 16, 18, 20 of the UAPA at Police Station Nowgam.
- Mehraj-ud-Din Rather, son of Gh Mohd Rather, resident of Boatman Colony.
- Gh Jeelani Bhat, son of late Gh Mohammad Bhat, resident of Khodpora Saidakadal Rainawari, involved in case FIR No. 48/2024 under Sections 109 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and Sections 13, 16, 19, 20, 39 of the UAPA at Police Station Khanyar.
- Danish Altaf Malik, son of Altaf Ahmad Malik, resident of Arampora Nawakadal, involved in Case FIR No 156/2024 under Sections 13, 19, 39 of the UAPA at Police Station Safakadal.
- Qazi Usmaan, son of Qazi Muzaffar, resident of Haka Bazar Nowhatta, involved in case FIR No. 48/24 under Sections 13, 19, 23, 39 of the UAPA at Haka Bazar.
- Altaf Ahamd Dar, son of Mohd Abdullah Dar, resident of Malikpora Barthana, involved in Case FIR No 127/2022 under Sections 7/25 of the Arms Act and Sections 13, 16, 18, 38, 39 of the UAPA at Police Station Parimpora. It is noted that a separate search result indicates that Case FIR No. 127/2022 was of Police Station Pattan.
- Mohd Asif Nath, son of Mohd Younis Nath, resident of Barthana, involved in Case FIR No. 127/2022 under Sections 7/25 of the Arms Act and Sections 13, 16, 18, 38, 39 of the UAPA at Police Station Parimpora.
- Amir Ahmad Gojri, son of Mohammad Ramzan Gojri, resident of Summerbugh (currently in National Investigation Agency (NIA) custody).
- Muzaffer Ahmad Mir, son of Khursheed Ahmad Mir, resident of Makdom Colony Maloora, involved in case FIR No. 48/2021 under Sections 7/25, 7/27 of the Arms Act, Sections 302, 307, 120–B, 392 of the IPC, and Sections 16, 18, 20 of the UAPA at Police Station Parimpora.
- Rameez Ahmad Mir, son of Khursheed Ahmed Mir, resident of Makdom Colony Maloora, involved in case FIR No. 48/2021 under Sections 7/25, 7/27 of the Arms Act, Sections 302, 307, 120–B, 392 of the IPC, and Sections 16, 18, 20 of the UAPA at Police Station Parimpora.
- Babar Suhail, son of Mohammad Yousf Sofi, resident of Lawaypora, involved in case FIR No. 48/2021 under Sections 7/25, 7/27 of the Arms Act, Sections 302, 307, 120–B, 392 of the IPC, and Sections 16, 18, 20 of the UAPA at Police Station Parimpora.
- Adil Mohammad Lone, son Ghulam Mohammad Lone, resident of Bazar Mohalla Lawaypora, involved in case FIR No. 48/2021 under Sections 7/25, 7/27 of the Arms Act, Sections 302, 307, 120–B, 392 of the IPC, and Sections 16, 18, 20 of the UAPA at Police Station Parimpora.
- Zahid Ahmad Illahi, son of Ab Rashid Illahi, resident of Aliabad, involved in case FIR No. 257/2020 under Sections 302, 307, 392 of the BNS and Section 7/25 of the Arms Act at Police Station Parimpora.
- Bashir Ahmad Bhat, son of Abdul Aziz Bhat, resident of Sozeith, involved in case FIR No. 73/2018 under Sections 13, 16 of the ULAP (likely a misspelling of UAPA) at Police Station Rajbagh.
- Mohammad Ayoub Parray, son of Ghulam Mohammad Parray, resident of Sozeith.
- Ghulam Rasool Parray, son of Ghulam Mohammad Parray, resident of Dumail.
- Ghulam Mohammad Bhat, son of Abdul Rehman Bhat, resident of Sozeith.
- Abdul Ahad Bhat, son of Ab Rehman Bhat, resident of Sozeith Bund.
- Sonaullah Bhat, son of Ab Rehman Bhat, resident of Sozeith.
- Tawheed Ahmad Bhat, son of Abdul Khaliq Bhat, resident of Sozeith Goripora, involved in case FIR No. 73/2018 under Sections 13, 16 of the ULAP (likely a misspelling of UAPA) at Police Station Rajbagh.
- Mohammad Ashraf Wani, son of Habib Ullah Wani, resident of Gopripora Sozeith.
- Abdul Rehman Wani, son of Habib Ullah Wani, resident of Near Hanfiya Masjid Sozeith.
- Mohammad Ali Wani, son of Habib Ullah Wani, resident of Near Hanfiya Masjid Sozeith.
- Gulzar Ahmad Wani, son of Habib Ullah Wani, resident of Goripora Sozeith.
- Ashraf Ahmad wani, son of Late Ghulam Qadir Wani, resident of Rice Mill Goripora Sozeith.
- Mohammad Ashiq Malik, son of Haji Abdul Razaq Malik, resident of Panzinara, involved in case FIR No. 280/2017 under Sections 147, 148, 149, 341, 427, 307 of the Ranbir Penal Code (RPC), Section 7/27 of the Arms Act, Section 3/5 of the E-SUB ACT, and case FIR No. 02-30/2018 under Section 7/25 of the Arms Act at Police Station Parimpora.
- Abdul Rashid Malik, son of Ghulam Ahmad Malik, resident of Khanpora Panzinara.
- Shabir Ahmad Malik, son of Ghulam Ahmad Malik, resident of Khanpora Panzinara.
- Farooq Ahmad Parray, resident of Khanpora Panzinara.
- Bilal Ahmad Malik, son of Andul Razak Naik, resident of Malikpora Panzinara.
- Nisar Ahmad Wani, son of Late Ali Mohmmad Wani, resident of Mumkhan Mohalla Rainawari, involved in Case FIR No. 48/2024 under Sections 109 of the BNS and Sections 13, 16, 19, 20, 39 of the UAPA at Police Station Khanayar.
The spokesperson emphasized that these searches were conducted following due legal procedures, with the presence of Executive Magistrates and independent witnesses, and under the supervision of J&K Police officers.
The primary objective of these operations is to seize arms, incriminating documents, and digital devices to gather evidence and intelligence aimed at detecting and preventing any conspiratorial or terrorist activities that could threaten national security.
Srinagar Police reiterated its commitment to maintaining peace and security in the city, warning that any individual found to be promoting violence, disruption, or unlawful activities will face stringent legal consequences.
