PM Modi to Inaugurate 103 Amrit Stations, Including Five in Karnataka, on May 22

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to virtually inaugurate 103 ‘Amrit stations’ from Bikaner, Rajasthan, on May 22, including five in Karnataka. These stations, part of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS), have been redeveloped at a cost exceeding Rs 1,100 crore.

The five Karnataka stations chosen for this initiative are Munirabad (Koppal district), Bagalkot, Gadag, Gokak Road (Belagavi district), and Dharwad.

These 103 stations are spread across 86 districts in 18 states and union territories. The ABSS aims to redevelop over 1,300 stations nationwide, incorporating modern facilities that reflect regional architectural styles and improve passenger amenities. The redeveloped Amrit stations integrate modern infrastructure with cultural heritage, offer passenger-centric amenities including those for Divyangjan (persons with disabilities), and implement sustainable practices to enhance the overall travel experience.
