Jammu and Kashmir’s Director General of Police, Nalin Prabhat, recently presided over a meeting to assess the security preparations for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra.
The meeting, held at the Police Control Room-Kashmir, included high-ranking officials from various police wings, the CRPF, ITBP, Traffic Police, Railways, and other security and intelligence agencies. Notable attendees included Special DGP Coordination S.J.M. Gillani, ADGP M.K. Sinha, ADGP-CID Nitish Kumar, IGs of both Kashmir and Jammu Zones, and the IG, BSF, Kashmir.
During the session, zonal IGsP outlined their proposed security plans for the 2025 Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra. Representatives from the Central Armed Police Force and other security organizations also provided their input and feedback.
DGP Prabhat issued directives for the strict implementation of Standard Operating Procedures. He further instructed field officers to step up efforts to dismantle the terror ecosystem. Additionally, the DGP mandated enhanced security measures, including the deployment of anti-sabotage teams along the yatra routes, to mitigate potential risks. He also emphasized the importance of utilizing advanced technologies and real-time monitoring on both pilgrimage routes to improve surveillance and threat detection capabilities.
