A man was arrested in Udhampur after police found 5.78 grams of heroin (chitta) in his possession. The individual, identified as Sunil Kumar, son of Kali Dass, a resident of Satani near the Air Force Station Udhampur, was apprehended on the National Highway near Kalra College by a team from Udhampur Police Station during routine patrol. He had attempted to conceal himself upon seeing the police, raising suspicion.
A case has been registered against him under FIR No. 192/2025, Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act, and further investigation is underway. Authorities noted that the accused was previously involved in an accident while under the influence of narcotics.
