Baramulla Police have arrested a drug peddler and recovered 131 grams of Charas-like contraband, continuing their efforts to combat drug trafficking in the region.
The arrest took place when a team from Police Station Kunzer, led by SHO PS Kunzer, set up a checkpoint at Chachloora. There, they intercepted Mohd Yousuf Ganie, son of Ab Rahim Ganie, a resident of Sodipora Beerwah. A search of Ganie led to the discovery of the contraband substance. He was immediately arrested.
A case has been registered at Police Station Kunzer under FIR No. 61/2025, with charges under sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
The police are urging the public to report any drug-related activities or other criminal behavior to their nearest police station or by dialing 112. They emphasize that public cooperation is vital in the fight against drug menace and reassure the community that strict action will continue to be taken against offenders.
