J&K deserves statehood without delay: CM Omar Abdullah

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah called for the immediate restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, citing it as a right of the people and referencing the Supreme Court’s mention of it during last year’s Article 370 hearing.

Speaking at the National Tribal Festival in Gurez, he emphasized the importance of hosting the event near the Line of Control (LoC) to showcase the region’s cultural vibrancy. He also highlighted plans to improve border tourism to boost the local economy and reduce unemployment. Finally, he addressed the long-standing demand for a tunnel at Razdan Pass, stating that a 10 km tunnel is a feasible project that will be built.
