Union Home Minister Amit Shah says three new bills to replace IPC, CrPC, and Indian Evidence Act will be passed soon
At the Passing Out parade of IPS cadets at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy on Friday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced that three new bills to replace the Indian Penal Code (IPC), Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), and Indian Evidence Act would be passed by Parliament soon.
Shah stated that India is abandoning the laws enacted during British rule and entering a new era with renewed confidence and optimism. The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs is currently examining the three new bills, and they are expected to be passed soon, he continued.
The new laws are intended to safeguard the rights of the people, according to Shah. He also noted that the number of female IPS cadets is increasing, and that India is advancing in women-led growth under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
