Kashmir Shivers as Intense Cold Wave Grips the Region

The minimum temperature dipped below freezing in most parts of Kashmir Valley on Wednesday night, with Shopian recording the lowest temperature of -3.3 degrees Celsius. The slight rise in temperature is attributed to the arrival of a western disturbance, which is expected to affect the region later in the day. This increase in temperature has also led to a reduction in the early morning fog that had blanketed the valley for the past three days.

Srinagar city recorded a low of -0.8 degrees Celsius, one degree higher than the previous night, while Pulwama recorded a low of -2.1 degrees Celsius. In south Kashmir, the Pahalgam tourist resort registered a minimum temperature of -1.8 degrees Celsius, and in north Kashmir, the Gulmarg ski resort recorded a low of 0.4 degrees Celsius.
