In a narrow escape, security forces in Srinagar thwarted a potential disaster by detecting and destroying an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) cleverly concealed inside a gas cylinder in Lawapora, a region on the city’s outskirts.
Acting on intelligence, a joint team comprising personnel from the Rashtriya Rifles, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and Jammu and Kashmir Police swiftly located the suspicious gas cylinder. Recognizing the immediate danger it posed, the team expertly defused the IED, preventing it from causing any casualties or damage.
