A late-night fire on Tuesday devastated a joint residential house and partially damaged a nearby Jamia Masjid in the Frisal area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
The blaze, which engulfed the house of Jahangir Ahmed Pala and Abdul Majeed Pala (both sons of Abdul Aziz Pala), completely gutted the structure. The fire then spread to the adjacent Jamia Masjid, significantly damaging its two-story rooftop.
Thankfully, no injuries were reported. Police, fire tenders, and local residents worked together to control the inferno before further damage could occur.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
