KPDCL to Cut Supply by Up to 2.5 Hours Daily

Kashmir residents are facing additional power cuts as the Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) announced a temporary increase in curtailment. This decision comes amid a drastic reduction in power generation caused by the prolonged cold spell in the Valley.

In a recent statement, KPDCL explained that the reduced availability of power necessitates a temporary increase in curtailment by 2 to 2.5 hours during peak hours across the Kashmir Valley. They assured the public that this is a temporary measure and will be reversed as soon as sufficient power becomes available. However, they acknowledged the inconvenience caused and expressed regret for the disruption.

The extended power cuts are likely to pose challenges for daily life in Kashmir, particularly during the cold winter months when reliance on electricity for heating and other essential needs is high. It is important for residents to be aware of the new curtailment schedule and plan accordingly.
