Jammu: In a major shakeup, the Steel Ministry has suspended two board-level officials at steel PSU SAIL and one director at iron ore major NMDC for alleged misconduct. Additionally, SAIL has suspended 26 other officials for violating its code of conduct.
SAIL Suspensions:
- V.S. Chakravarthy, Director (Commercial)
- A.K. Tulsiani, Director (Finance)
- 26 other below-board-level officials, including senior executives like S.K. Sharma, ED (F&A), CMC, Vinod Gupta, ED (Commercial), Atul Mathur, ED (Sales & ITD), and R.M. Suresh, ED (Marketing Services)
NMDC Suspension:
- V. Suresh, Director (Commercial)
Reason for Suspensions:
The Ministry of Steel’s letters cite sub-rule (1) of Rule 20 of the respective Conduct, Discipline, and Appeal Rules for these suspensions. SAIL clarifies that the issue pertains to ongoing investigations under Lokpal’s directions.
SAIL’s Assurance:
