J&K braces for extended wet spell from Feb 19-21

Expect an extended wet spell with rain and snow from Saturday night (Feb 17) till afternoon of February 21. Significant drop in temperatures is also expected.

Kashmir Valley:

• Feb 17 night: Partly to generally cloudy with possibility of light snow at isolated higher reaches.
• Feb 18: Generally cloudy with possibility of light to moderate rain and snow at many places.
• Feb 19-20: Light to moderate rain and snow at most places (plains and lower reaches). Heavy snowfall over middle and higher reaches of some districts.
• Feb 21: Light to moderate snow at many places till afternoon/late afternoon, then gradual improvement.

Jammu Division:

• Feb 18: Light rain and snow at many places.
• Feb 19-20: Intermittent light to moderate rain with thunder/lightning in plains. Light to moderate snowfall over higher reaches, heavy snowfall over isolated higher reaches of some districts.
• Feb 21: Light to moderate snow/rain/thunder/lightning at many places till late afternoon/evening, then gradual improvement.
