In a swift operation, the Border Security Force (BSF) on Thursday successfully intercepted a Pakistani drone attempting to drop an improvised explosive device (IED) near the International Border (IB) in Kathua district.
Alert BSF troops spotted the drone’s movement in the morning hours and promptly opened fire, forcing it to retreat back to the Pakistani side. Immediately, a search operation was launched in the Manyari post area, close to the zero line, where the drone activity was observed.
During the ongoing search, the BSF team successfully recovered the dropped IED in a forward village. Experts are currently examining the device to assess its potential threat.
