Bandipora Encounter: Security Forces Continue Search After Clashes

In a continued effort to locate militants in the Renji forest area of Bandipora, security forces ramped up their search operation on Thursday. The search began a day earlier after a firefight with militants left two soldiers injured.

Acting on intelligence suggesting the presence of two to three militants, a combined team from the police, army’s 13RR, and CRPF launched a search operation in the forested area. The militants opened fire upon encountering the security forces, triggering an exchange of gunfire.

Authorities have sealed all potential escape routes and implemented additional measures, including night lights, to prevent the militants from fleeing. Helicopters and other resources have also been brought in to aid the search, which has continued uninterrupted since Wednesday. While apprehending the militants remains the objective, officials acknowledge the possibility of their escape at this time.
