Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is likely to visit Ladakh on Thursday and Friday, followed by a Europe tour in the second week of September.
In Ladakh, Gandhi will meet with local leaders and people from the armed forces. He will also visit the border areas.
In Europe, he will meet with European Union Parliamentarians, the Indian diaspora, and university students. He will also visit Belgium, Norway, and France.
Gandhi’s foreign visits have been criticized by the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which has accused him of being more interested in foreign tours than in the problems of the people of India.
Gandhi has defended his foreign visits, saying that they are an opportunity to meet with world leaders and to raise awareness about the issues facing India.
