Jammu, 18/AUG/2023: Jammu and Kashmir Border Area Development Conference(JK_BADC), a registered organization working for the welfare of border residents of J & K has urged the union government to immediately fill the vacant posts of teaching staff there in the Central university of Kashmir(CUK) and Central University of Jammu(CUJ) as both these universities are starved of teaching staff. The Border Residents’ organization has stated that as per recent media reports based on RTI revelation there is shortage of 40 percent teaching staff in Central University of Jammu and over 60 % faculty posts are lying vacant in Central University of Kashmir.
Dr Shazad Ahmed Malik, Chairman of BADC and former Vice Chancellor while giving his reaction over the shortage of teaching staff there in these two premier educational institutions of J & K expressed his disappointment and appealed Dharmendra Pradhan, the union education minister to issue necessary directions to fill these vacant posts in CUK and CUK.
Former VC said, this is a cruel joke with the students enrolled in these universities as any educational institution without teachers is nothing but a lifeless concrete structure having no relevance. He asked the University Grants Commission(UGC), which is a statutory body to intervene in this serious issue concerning the feature of youth and ensure fulfillment of all vacant positions of teaching and non teaching staff there in Central University of Kashmir and Central University of Jammu. He said people of Kashmir and Jammu region got these universities after long struggle so it is responsibility of the people to ensure that these institutions run smoothly.
