Sadly, five Kashmiri women on the 2024 Hajj pilgrimage have died from heatstroke in Arafat and Muzdalifa. Officials say scorching temperatures, reaching up to 48°C, impacted the health of many pilgrims.
Despite the heat, pilgrims remained dedicated to their religious duties.
The deceased women were reportedly accompanied by relatives and will be buried in Makkah. Over 7,000 pilgrims from Jammu and Kashmir participated in this year’s Hajj, with most departing from Srinagar.
