Jammu and Kashmir Police have made a significant breakthrough in the July 10th terror attack that claimed the lives of five security personnel in Kathua district. Two individuals linked to the Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) terror group have been apprehended from the hilly regions of the district.
Authorities believe that further interrogations of these suspects will lead to the identification and arrest of additional individuals involved in providing support and logistics to the terrorists.
The deadly ambush in Badnota village, located approximately 150 kilometers from Kathua town, targeted an army vehicle. The attack highlighted the growing threat posed by a reported 40 hardened foreign terrorists operating in the hilly districts of Jammu division, including Rajouri, Poonch, Doda, Kathua, Reasi, and Udhampur.
In response to the escalating situation, the Indian Army has deployed over 4,000 troops, including specialized para commandos and mountain warfare experts, to combat terrorism in the region.
