Relief Assistance for Rehari Shelling Victims Clarified by District Administration
The District Administration today addressed concerns regarding the relief assistance provided to families in Rehari affected by recent cross-border shelling, clarifying details a day after media reports cited locals’ claims of insufficient compensation.
Contrary to some reports, the District Administration stated that the primary house directly hit by shelling has been sanctioned an assistance amount of ₹1,20,000. This is in line with prescribed norms.
For nearby homes that sustained minor structural damages without a direct hit, ₹6,500 has been provided to each household. This compensation aligns with existing guidelines for minor structural damage.
In addition to property damage, individuals with minor injuries from the shelling have received ₹10,000 each in immediate relief from the District Administration. Those who were grievously injured have been granted ₹35,000 each.
The District Administration emphasized its commitment to the affected families, assuring that all genuine needs arising from the incident are being prioritized. They reiterated their solidarity with Rehari residents and their resolve to provide comprehensive support.
