More than 251,000 pilgrims have completed the Amarnath Yatra in its first 15 days, with thousands more continuing their journey to the cave shrine. This includes 5,110 who had ‘Darshan’ by 2 p.m. on Thursday alone.
The pilgrimage, which began on July 3, was briefly suspended on Thursday due to inclement weather. However, as conditions improved, devotees were allowed to proceed from the Baltal and Nunwan (Pahalgam) base camps.
Officials highlighted the overwhelming participation from India and abroad, emphasizing the spiritual significance of the journey to seek Lord Shiva’s blessings. They noted the smooth and well-managed flow of pilgrims, attributing it to the comprehensive arrangements made for comfort, safety, and spiritual fulfillment. Pilgrims have expressed great satisfaction with the provisions for sanitation, healthcare, food, transportation, and security.
Authorities, including the Shrine Board, security forces, volunteers, and various government departments, have been praised for their dedicated service. Despite the challenging Himalayan terrain and unpredictable weather, the Yatra is progressing smoothly, with continuous monitoring and preparedness for any emerging challenges. With several weeks remaining, officials anticipate a significant increase in pilgrim numbers, further solidifying the Shri Amarnathji Yatra’s esteemed status as a journey of faith.
