Amit Shah Visits Injured Tourists in Anantnag After Pahalgam Attack

Following a recent terrorist attack targeting tourists in Anantnag, Union Home Minister Amit Shah conducted a visit to the region on Wednesday.

Immediately after paying his respects to the victims of the Pahalgam attack, Shah traveled to Pahalgam to evaluate the on-ground security situation and visit the injured tourists at GMC Anantnag.

Shah’s visit, which commenced with his arrival in Srinagar on Tuesday, was prompted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s directive to personally assess the aftermath of the attack.

On Tuesday, Shah convened a high-level security meeting in Srinagar, bringing together senior officials from the Intelligence Bureau, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Jammu and Kashmir Police, and other relevant agencies to discuss the incident and strategize future security protocols.

In the immediate aftermath of the attack, security forces initiated a search operation within the Baisaran forest to locate the fleeing terrorists.
