Anantnag Police Arrest Four Drug Peddlers with Heroin

Continuing its resolute efforts to combat the drug menace, District Police Anantnag has achieved significant success with the apprehension of four individuals involved in drug peddling in separate incidents. During these operations, heroin-like substances were recovered from their possession.

In the first instance, a known female drug peddler, Khushbu Jan, daughter of Farooq Ahmad Sheikh and resident of Bangidar, was apprehended near Bangidar Bridge. Authorities recovered 7 grams of a heroin-like substance from her. In connection with this, Case FIR No. 100/2025 under Section 8/21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Police Station Anantnag, and an investigation is currently underway.

In a separate operation, two individuals identified as Nargis, wife of Mohammad Ali and resident of Bawana JJ Colony, Delhi-39, and Mohammad Irfan, son of Mohammad Jehangir Khan and resident of Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, were apprehended. Police recovered 3 grams and 6 grams of heroin-like substances from their respective possessions. Consequently, FIR No. 104/2025 under Section 8/21 of the NDPS Act has been registered at PS Anantnag, and further investigation is in progress.

In a third successful operation, Ishfaq Ahmad Hajam, son of Gul Mohammad Hajam and resident of Saidwara, Dooru Shahabad, was arrested after being found in possession of 6 grams of a heroin-like substance. In this regard, Case FIR No. 105/2025 under Section 8/21 of the NDPS Act has been registered at PS Anantnag, and an investigation has been initiated.
