Continuing their determined fight against drug trafficking, Anantnag Police have apprehended two individuals involved in the illegal drug trade and seized a substantial quantity of narcotics.
Acting on intelligence, a team from Police Station Aishmuqam, under the supervision of SDPO Pahalgam, established a checkpoint at Brad Aishmuqam. During the operation, they intercepted and arrested Farooq Ahmad Lone, son-in-law of Gh Rasool Itoo, residing in Paith Nambal and currently in Yall, and Zafar Ahmad Bhat, son of Mohd Afzal Bhat, resident of Khayar. The police recovered 7.2 kilograms of cannabis husk and 256 grams of cannabis powder from their possession.
A formal case, FIR No. 05/2025, has been registered under the applicable legal provisions at Police Station Aishmuqam, and a thorough investigation is underway.
