During a visit to Srinagar, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh commended the Armed Forces for their success in “Operation Sindoor.” He also expressed serious concerns regarding Pakistan’s nuclear capabilities, questioning their safety in the hands of what he described as a “rogue” nation.
“The world recognizes our military’s precision,” Singh stated, “and when we strike, the enemy tallies the losses. India’s resolve against terrorism is such that we disregarded their nuclear threats. Pakistan’s irresponsible threats have been witnessed globally. From Srinagar, I ask: are nuclear weapons safe with such an irresponsible, rogue nation? I propose that Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal be placed under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).”
Singh attributed the success of “Operation Sindoor” to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and the Armed Forces’ dedication. He also acknowledged and praised the strong anti-Pakistan and anti-terrorism sentiment expressed by the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
“The nation is proud of your achievements in ‘Operation Sindoor,’ under Prime Minister Modi’s guidance,” he said. “The unified anger of Jammu and Kashmir’s residents against Pakistan and terrorism is commendable. I’ve witnessed the powerful energy that neutralized the enemy. The destruction of Pakistani posts and infiltrators across the border will be an unforgettable lesson.”
Singh began his address with “Bharat Mata ki Jay” and paid tribute to fallen soldiers and civilian victims of terrorism.
“I honor the supreme sacrifice of our brave soldiers who fought terrorism,” he said. “I also mourn the innocent civilians killed in Pahalgam and salute the courage of our injured soldiers, wishing them a swift recovery.”
Prior to his address, Singh inspected remnants of shells fired from Pakistan during cross-border shelling. His visit followed Prime Minister Modi’s recent visit to the Adampur Air base.
