In a significant step against drug trafficking, Baramulla police seized properties worth ₹1.55 crore belonging to drug peddlers in the first quarter of 2024.
The seized assets include four houses, a shopping complex, a plot of land, two Hyundai i20 cars, a Maruti Suzuki Swift car, and a scooter. Police took action under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) of 1985.
Investigations revealed that these properties were likely acquired through illegal drug sales. This operation highlights the police department’s firm commitment to eradicating the drug menace. Locals have expressed appreciation for this initiative.
