Over a dozen shops and an old residential structure were destroyed in a fire early Thursday morning in Dar Gali, north Kashmir’s Kupwara district. Fortunately, no injuries or loss of life were reported.
Haji Ab Gani Dar’s structure was significantly damaged by the blaze, which ignited in the wee hours. Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES) personnel quickly arrived on the scene after receiving notification.
An F&ES employee on the scene confirmed that they swiftly took action, rescuing a family trapped in the structure. The exact number of shops gutted and the extent of the damage are still being assessed by Tehsildar Kupwara and will be reported later.
