On Monday, the Border Security Force (BSF) detected and defused a mortar shell that had been fired by Pakistani rangers during a recent ceasefire violation. The shell was found in an agricultural field in the Arnia sector along the International Border in Jammu.
BSF troops rushed to the scene after receiving information from locals and recovered the mortar shell. They then successfully defused it in the fields, averting a major tragedy in the area.
The recovery of the mortar shell is the second such incident in the Arnia sector in the past two weeks. On October 31, BSF troops defused another mortar shell that had been fired by Pakistani rangers.
The discovery of these mortar shells highlights the continued threat posed by ceasefire violations by Pakistan along the International Border. It also underscores the importance of the work done by the BSF in keeping border residents safe.
