The Border Security Force (BSF) on Wednesday recovered over 6 kg of heroin and a packet of opium in the border village of Dostpur in Punjab’s Gurdaspur district.
Acting on specific information, the BSF troops carried out a search operation on Tuesday evening. They found six packets of heroin weighing 6.30 kilograms and a packet containing 70 grams of opium concealed inside a 12-volt battery case.
The heroin and opium were seized and a case has been registered. The BSF is investigating the matter to find out the source of the drugs and the people involved in the smuggling.
