Defense Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated Aero India 2025, emphasizing the importance of strength for achieving peace and a better world order. He highlighted global uncertainties and reiterated India’s commitment to peace and stability, stating that “security, stability and peace are shared constructs that transcend national borders.” He acknowledged the presence of international partners at the event, underscoring the shared vision of “One earth, One family, One future.”
Singh stressed that a strong security posture is essential for peace, asserting that “peace can never be achieved in a weak state of security.” He believes that collective strength is necessary to ensure peace and build a better world. He noted India’s history of peaceful relations, stating that India has “neither attacked any country, nor have we been involved in any great power rivalry.” He emphasized that India’s advocacy for peace and stability is a fundamental ideal.
The 15th edition of Aero India, themed “The Runway To A Billion Opportunities,” was inaugurated at Yelahanka Air Force Station. Singh deemed the theme highly appropriate, reflecting the vast potential within India. He outlined the objectives of Aero India, which include showcasing India’s industrial capabilities and technological advancements to the world, demonstrating the nation’s commitment to security. A further objective, he said, is to strengthen relationships with friendly foreign countries. He noted the diverse gathering of government representatives, industry leaders, air force officers, scientists, defense experts, startups, academia, and other stakeholders from around the globe, expressing confidence that this convergence would foster closer partnerships and mutual benefit.
Drawing a parallel between the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj and Aero India, Singh described the former as a “Kumbh of soul searching” and the latter as a “Kumbh of research,” highlighting the significance of both events.
