In the lead-up to the G20 summit in Delhi, security has been tightened across the city. Local police and BSF jawans have been patrolling the Yamuna river on boats to prevent any untoward incidents. The Delhi Police have also heightened security checks and have deployed NSG dog squads and bomb disposal units at key locations, including Rajghat, ITPO, and the Pusa campus.
Traffic restrictions have also been imposed in the New Delhi district from Friday morning until Sunday evening. Buses will not be allowed to enter the city from the Rajokari border, and online delivery services, except for medicines, will be barred in the area where the summit venue and hotels for delegates are located.
The G20 summit will be held in New Delhi from September 9-10 and will be attended by leaders from 19 countries, including the United States, Britain, and Canada.
