Div Com Jammu Reviews Road Construction Status, Traffic Movement On NH In Ramban

Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, convened a meeting today to address ongoing traffic congestion on the National Highway 44 stretch within Ramban district, where road construction is underway.

Recognizing the challenges posed by the hilly terrain and active construction sites, the Commissioner sought detailed information on specific congestion points. He directed the Project Director of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to:

  • Prioritize meticulous planning and increase resources (personnel and equipment) to expedite highway construction.
  • Immediately repair rain-induced potholes to ensure uninterrupted vehicle flow.

The NHAI Project Director assured that a smooth driving surface would be established on the Nashri-Dalwas section by the first week of April. He also committed to repairing the damaged road section in Mehar.

Emphasizing the importance of maintaining dual-lane traffic flow, the Divisional Commissioner instructed the Traffic Department and NHAI Ramban to maintain a state of high alert, promptly reporting and resolving any congestion issues.

The meeting, attended by key officials including the DIG Traffic, Deputy Commissioner Ramban, SSP Ramban, and SSP NHW Ramban, involved thorough discussions on identified challenges and strategies for ensuring smooth traffic movement on the under-construction sections of National Highway 44 in Ramban.
