Doda, Jammu and Kashmir, has banned the storage, use, and transportation of drones for two months to prevent their misuse by anti-national elements. Police and other security agencies are exempt from the ban. Government departments using drones for activities like mapping, surveys, construction surveillance, and agriculture must obtain prior permission. Individuals currently possessing drones must deposit them at the nearest police station within one week. The ban was implemented due to recent incidents in Jammu and Kashmir where drones were used by anti-national elements, posing a threat to human life and vital installations. The order aims to secure aerial space near these sensitive areas. While police and defense forces are exempt, they must notify the local Station House Officer before using drones. The Senior Superintendent of Police has been tasked with enforcing the order.
