Doda, Jammu and Kashmir – Three labourers were killed and five others critically injured when the vehicle they were travelling in skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday night.
The labourers boarded the vehicle at Khellani and were on their way to their homes in Marmat area when the accident took place near Humbal village around 10.40 pm, police officials said.
Local volunteers and police launched a rescue operation and found three labourers, Mani Kumar (31), Karan Jeet Singh (40) and Lal Chand (45), dead on-the-spot. The five injured labourers were rescued and taken to government medical college hospital Doda for treatment.
The cause of the accident is being investigated.
