A 22-year-old man was killed and three family members sustained injuries in a head-on collision on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in the Shalgadi area of Banihal on Monday.
The accident occurred when an Alto car, carrying a family from Amritsar, Punjab, traveling towards Srinagar, collided with a Tempo traveler heading in the opposite direction near the four-lane tunnel in Shalgadi.
The deceased has been identified as Anmolpreet Singh, son of Kamaljeet Singh. The injured, all from the same family, are Kamaljeet Singh (42), Charanjeet Kour (40), and Arshdeep Singh (19). They have been transported to GMC Anantnag for medical treatment.
Police have initiated an investigation into the incident.
