In a significant development, the Samba district administration, in collaboration with the police, seized a residential property belonging to a notorious drug dealer. This unprecedented action marks a firm stance against drug trafficking in the region.
The single-story property, valued at approximately Rs. 15 lakhs, was confiscated from Shamas Din, alias Bacchu, in the Rakh Barotian area of Vijaypur tehsil. Officials cited three FIRs and highlighted the support of law enforcement agencies in executing the operation under relevant sections of the NDPS Act.
Through an extensive investigation, authorities linked the property to Din’s drug trafficking activities, establishing it as “ill-gotten gains.” This decisive action, they emphasized, exemplifies the district’s unwavering commitment to eradicating the drug menace.
The local community has applauded the initiative, recognizing it as a crucial step towards a safer and drug-free environment. By attaching the property of a known drug peddler, a strong message is sent to deter similar criminal activities.
The operation, led by SDPO Vijaypur Rohit Gupta, Tehsildar Vijaypur Sudesh Kumar, and SHO Vijaypur Zaheer Mushtaq and his team, serves as a testament to the administration’s resolve to tackle drug-related issues and ensure public safety.
