Drug Peddlers Arrested in Srinagar

Srinagar Police on Wednesday announced the arrest of two individuals on drug-related charges.

During a routine vehicle inspection at Malkha Chowk, police officers apprehended Zubair Ahmad Ahanger, a resident of Kathi Darwaza, who was found to be in possession of approximately 40 grams of charas.

Based on information provided by Ahanger, police subsequently arrested Bilal Ahmad Sheikh, a resident of Tujgari Mohalla, near Old Malkha Chowk. A search of Sheikh revealed approximately 80 grams of charas.

Both Ahanger and Sheikh have been arrested and charged under relevant sections of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. An FIR (First Information Report) has been registered at Nowhatta Police Station, and further investigation is underway.
