Earthquake Jolts Rajouri in Jammu and Kashmir

An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.6 struck Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir at 3:49 am on Thursday, August 17, 2023, according to the National Center for Seismology (NCS). The epicenter of the earthquake was located at 33.33°N 74.2°E, at a depth of 10 kilometers. There are no immediate reports of any damage.

The earthquake was felt in several parts of Rajouri district, including Rajouri town, Kotranka, Thanamandi, and Sunderbani. Some people reported feeling a shaking sensation for a few seconds.

The NCS has advised people to stay away from buildings and other structures that could collapse in the event of aftershocks. They have also advised people to be prepared for any possible emergencies.
