Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated on Saturday that the Indian government’s decisive cross-border actions include “Operation Sindoor,” citing it alongside the surgical strike following the 2016 Uri terrorist attack and the air strikes after the 2019 Pulwama attack.
Shah emphasized that the government responded to the Uri attack with a surgical strike and the Pulwama attack with air strikes. He described “Operation Sindoor” as another instance of Indian forces conducting targeted operations within terrorist hideouts, affirming, “Terrorism has no place anywhere. The BJP-led government will eliminate it wherever it exists.”
He asserted that only Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP can effectively counter terrorism, referencing past operations in Jammu and Kashmir as proof.
Furthermore, Shah announced the government’s objective to eradicate Naxalism from India by March 31, 2026, as part of a comprehensive national security strategy addressing internal threats.
The Home Minister also criticized opposition-led state governments for what he perceived as insufficient action against extremist groups. Without naming specific parties, he questioned their silence on the activities of banned organizations and called for a national consensus on security matters.
