Srinagar Police have arrested four individuals who were masquerading as police commandos to rob truck drivers at night. The operation followed a complaint filed on February 22, 2025, by Chanchal Singh of Haryana, who reported being robbed at gunpoint in Maloora, Shalteng.
An investigation was immediately launched, leading to the swift apprehension of:
- Sahil Ahmad Sheikh (Narakh Budgam)
- Aqib Ahmad Sheikh (Narkarah Budgam)
- Arbaz Ahmad Wani (SD Colony Batmaloo)
- Faisal Ahmad Shah (Nowhatta)
The gang targeted out-of-state trucks on isolated highway sections at night. They used dummy guns and black commando uniforms to intimidate drivers and steal cash, ATM cards, and other valuables.
Police recovered:
- Two dummy guns
- Nine mobile phones
- A Swift vehicle
- ATM cards
- Cash
- Black commando uniforms
It has been revealed that the arrested individuals have prior criminal records across Jammu & Kashmir.
