FICCI FLO Jammu Kashmir & Ladakh, in a collaborative effort with MIET, took a significant step towards creating safer work environments by organizing a comprehensive workshop on the “Prevention of Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace.” Held at MIET College Kot Bhalwal Jammu, the workshop was led by renowned facilitators Ms. Anuradha Gandhi, a DE&I and POSH certified expert and Managing Associate of S.S. Rana & Co., along with her Junior Associate, Ms. Isha Sharma. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Mrs. Monika Kohli, Senior Additional Advocate General of Jammu and Kashmir, who served as the Chief Guest.
The workshop was a pioneering collaboration with its primary objective to educate and empower individuals and organizations with the knowledge and tools necessary to combat and prevent sexual harassment at the workplace. It brought together FICCI FLO JKL’s commitment to gender equality and MIET’s dedication to promoting education and social awareness.
Ms. Anuradha Gandhi spearheaded the workshop. Her extensive experience and deep knowledge in the field of workplace harassment prevention made her an ideal resource for imparting valuable insights. Working alongside Ms. Gandhi was her talented colleague, Ms. Isha Sharma, their combined expertise brought a rich and comprehensive perspective to the workshop.
Mrs. Monika Kohli, in her adddress underscored the importance of this workshop in the legal and socio-economic context of the region. She emphasized the legal frameworks in place to protect women from workplace harassment & highlighted the critical role of organizations and individuals in creating a culture of respect and safety. Mrs. Kohli’s insights shed light on the legal remedies available to victims and the responsibilities of employers to ensure safe workplaces.
The participants expressed their appreciation for the workshop’s comprehensive content and the facilitators’ engaging presentation style. Many felt more equipped to address and prevent harassment in their workplaces, and they left with a renewed commitment to promoting safe, inclusive, and gender-sensitive environments.
