A forest fire near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir triggered at least four landmine explosions on Sunday. The fire, which began around 1 p.m. in the Lanjote forest of the Balakote sector, caused the mines to detonate. While the area is heavily mined as part of anti-infiltration measures, no casualties were reported. The cause of the fire is currently unknown, and it was extinguished after several hours by a joint effort of the Army, police, and local volunteers.
