Police in the Jammu region have arrested four inter-state drug peddlers, including a juvenile, in separate incidents across the Samba, Kathua, and Udhampur districts on Tuesday. Substantial quantities of narcotic substances were recovered during these operations.
In Samba, Amarish Kumar, from Piparpanti Koila Khagaria in Bihar, was arrested in the Ramgarh area. Police recovered 1.6 kg of ganja from him after he was observed acting suspiciously near Swankha village. Kumar had been residing in the Bari Brahmana area.
Meanwhile, in Kathua, Harpreet Singh and a juvenile, both from the Taran Taran area of Punjab, were apprehended at the Phalote area of Nagri. They were stopped during a routine check while traveling from Punjab towards Phalote, and 51.06 gm of heroin was seized from their possession.
Finally, in Udhampur, Aqib Ganie, a resident of Srinagar, was arrested at Jakhani during a vehicle inspection. He was found with 10.51 gm of heroin.
All four individuals have been charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and investigations into these cases are ongoing.
